A Beautiful Winter Mitton Hall Wedding

I had the pleasure of working along side Jon Bird on this awesome winter wedding at Mitton Hall in November. I do love an autumnal wedding the colours are just perfect!

I joined Nikala the Bride at her mums family home in the heart of Lancashire. What a home it was, so many lovely souvenirs from their family travels all over the place. It was hard not to photograph them. Especially as I’m an animal lover too. The bridal preparations were calm and organised which was hard to believe with how many bridesmaids Nikala had.

The Mitton Hall Wedding Ceremony

So the ceremony took place at Mitton Hall. It’s the perfect venue for a Wedding ceremony. Huge windows and sky lights mean it’s perfect for lighting.. Jonathan just about managed to stop the tears as Nikala walked down the aisle. The ceremony was emotional and personal just the way I like them. Finished off perfectly by confetti being thrown as they walked up the aisle.

The weather wasn’t the best as we had to deal with cold and some rain during the time slot for the formal photographs. But luckily Mitton Hall as some huge trees infront of it which made the perfect canopy for our photographs. I also perfer to use natural light were possible for my photographs so being able to do them outside always makes for a nice image.

The rain did disappear for a while which meant we got to go into the gardens at the back of Mitton Hall for some Bride and Groom Portraits. This time is so important to have. I always say to my couples you don’t actually get a lot of time alone together on your wedding day. So being able to have 15 minutes alone wandering around your wedding venue will have a huge impact on your day. Plus I’m there to photograph these moments. I leave you to chat and relax while sometimes stepping in with a bit of direction, but thats it the rest is all natural, you’ll have lovely wedding photographs to look back on.
